Easily one of the most fun time of the year to travel around Europe is during Christmas, not only for the beautiful decorations and lively atmosphere, but also to be able to visit the Christmas markets that take over nearly every city center. It is an overabundance of food, drink, and hand made goods. Germans in particular love their Gluhwein (aka mulled wine), wursts, and surprisingly chocolate.
